Ready for yet another list of the scariest Tomb Raider enemies of all time? The other two lists, The 10 Scariest Tomb Raider Enemies: The Core Design Years and The 10 Scariest Tomb Raider Enemies: The Crystal Dynamics Years, turned out to be spectacularly popular with fans and were even featured on the official Tomb Raider Facebook page as part of their Halloween festivities.
Needless to say, the blog stats shot through the roof that day.
When I created the Core Design list, I felt like I had to leave out a lot of enemies that I (and other Raider fans) felt deserved a mention. People asked me: Where were the sharks and giant spiders? And why hadn’t I included any enemies from Last Revelation?
So without further ado, here’s a list of those unsung
heroes, erm, baddies in no particular order.😉
These 6-armed Shiva statues really put a damper on Lara’s visit to India in Tomb Raider 3 (Image credit: Katie’s Tomb Raider Screenshots)
Not content with killing T-Rexes and other large reptiles in her first video game outing, Lara battled a dragon in Tomb Raider 2 (Image credit: Skribblerz)
This mechanical minotaur was one of the stand-out enemies of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (Image credit: Katie’s Tomb Raider Screenshots)
Lara almost became fish food when she explored the remains of the Maria Doria in Tomb Raider 2 (Image credit: Skribblerz)
I hate wasps. And I particularly hate huge mutant wasps with glowing bits. Did I mention I hate wasps..? (Image credit: Skribblerz)
These little imps (or demons?) from Tomb Raider Chronicles are truly the stuff of nightmares (Image credit: Katie’s Tomb Raider Screenshots)
We can’t really leave out the giant spiders from Tomb Raider 2, can we? Apologies to José and other arachnophobes… (Image credit: Perusing Pixels)
The Tinnos mutants gave Lara a tough time in Antarctica in Tomb Raider 3 (Image credit: Micky’s Home Forum)
As if sharks weren’t enough to deal with, Lara also had to out-swim huge eels in Tomb Raider 2. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water… (Image credit: Perusing Pixels)
Why is Winston on this list you ask? Well, he follows Ms Croft everywhere with Terminator-like persistence, groaning and farting along the way, and won’t leave her alone unless he’s trapped in the fridge. (Image credit: Wikiraider)

I think these three lists should cover pretty much every memorable enemy from the Tomb Raider game series up to and including the 2013 reboot, but if I’ve left out any of your favourites, you’re welcome to let me know by leaving a comment below!
