Croft (2013)

Most of you have probably heard about this by now but for those of you who haven’t, a brand new Tomb Raider fan film was released online during the Christmas holidays and it’s already made quite an impression both online and off. Croft is a non-profit short film that was inspired by Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and was produced by a team of independent filmmakers and actors as a way to showcase their talents.

This 20-minute film follows the ordeal of “The Hero”, a woman who risks everything for the life of a young girl held hostage by a group of ruthless mercenaries. Croft was shot in the beautiful mountains and forests of British Columbia, Canada, and was directed by Trevor Addie. Cassandra Ebner, who has worked as a stunt double and actress on the TV shows Arrow and Supernatural, does a fantastic job in the film’s lead role and stars alongside Liam Carter (“Villain”), Devyn Dalton (“Girl”) and a small cast of mercenaries who are out to stop her at every turn. Will she succeed or will she die trying? Find out by clicking the video above!

What did you think of “Croft”? Liked it? Hated it? Feel free to share your thoughts below!

  1. i really enjoy ur blogs, only just discovered it!

  2. I usually avoid fan made things. From what i’ve seen in the past they’re usually really bad.

  3. I shall definitely blog about it early 2014. I was blown away. Those fighting scenes. Brilliant choreography and cinematography.

    • I look forward to reading it. I’m terrible at reviewing films so I generally avoid doing it. Must say that the film looks professionally made, certainly as far as fan films go.
