Good news, PC gamers! The critically-acclaimed Rise of the Tomb Raider (read my spoiler-free review) will be making its way to Steam and Windows 10 Store on 28th January 2016.
Earlier today, Crystal Dynamics’ new Heads of Studio, Scot Amos and Ron Rosenburg, announced that the game’s PC release will include a number of new features, including Windows 10 support and 4K resolution, and will be available as a digital download via Steam, the Windows 10 Store, Amazon, the Square Enix store, and other major retailers as from the 28th.
“The PC release of Rise of the Tomb Raider continues the positive momentum from our highly successful partnership and collaboration with Microsoft for the launch on Xbox One and Xbox 360,” said Scot Amos co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics.
“PC players are a passionate, devoted audience and we know they’ll embrace the version created for their systems,” said Ron Rosenberg, co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics.
In addition, a physical version will also be available in select territories as from the 29th and fans can purchase a collector’s edition of the game over at the Square Enix store for $149.99. The collector’s edition will include a Digital Deluxe version of the game, a 12-inch Lara Croft statue, a season pass, and other collectibles that would be perfect additions to any fan’s collection.
We can expect more details later in the month but for now, the Crystal Dynamics team have kindly put together an FAQ which should hopefully answer most fans’ questions about the game’s upcoming PC release.
