Spoiler warning: This article does not contain any plot or location spoilers for Rise of the Tomb Raider. However, I leave it entirely up to the reader to decide whether they wish to continue scrolling down or not… In her quest to find Kitezh in the frozen hinterlands of Siberia, Lara Croft stumbles upon the remains of the ancient armies and intrepid explorers who have tried (and failed) to conquer this once-glorious and remote city. One of the artefacts Lara discovers throughout the course of the game is a battle-damaged Mongolian tug, a relic of a failed Mongol invasion in the ... [Continue Reading]

Rise of the Tomb Raider Concept Art – November 2015

Crystal Dynamics has released three new pieces of concept art to coincide with the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider. And since I’ve been a little lazy about posting concept art on the blog (the last such update was back in July), I thought I’d search through my folders and share all of the officially-released artwork from the past few months. Please note that these do not reveal any plot spoilers and some of the concepts did not make it into the final game, so the images should be safe for viewing…even if you need to wait a while to play the game. It’s been a week since Rise of the Tomb Raider was released for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 here in Europe and what a week it’s been. 6 Siberia Travelogues for the Armchair Adventurer

Lara Croft’s latest adventure takes her to the forests and mountain ranges of Siberia, a vast and often misunderstood region that stretches from Russia’s Ural Mountains to the country’s north Pacific coastline. Commonly viewed as a region of Arctic wastelands and Soviet-era prison camps, Siberia is a land full of stunning natural landscapes and home to numerous indigenous peoples. Many of us may never get the chance to follow in Ms Croft’s footsteps due to financial or physical limitations, so here’s a list of books that will allow you to explore the ... [Continue Reading]
