Square Enix Announces New Mobile Adventure, Lara Croft GO

It’s turning out to be quite a week of announcements at this year’s E3 and today’s Square Enix conference was no exception. Not only did we get a few more (albeit brief) snippets of the highly-anticipated Rise of the Tomb Raider, we also found out that Square Enix Montréal is currently developing Lara Croft GO, a brand-new turn-based puzzle game for mobile devices. Following the success of their award-winning game Hitman ... [Continue Reading]

Lara Croft: Relic Run - Fan Reactions and Reviews

The adventure-runner mobile game Lara Croft: Relic Run was officially launched today and, judging from my Facebook page and Twitter timeline, it’s been pretty well received by the Tomb Raider fan community. Fans’ fears that Relic Run would be little more than a Temple Run clone have been put to rest and not an hour goes by without someone sharing a screenshot of yet another unfortunate (but often hilarious) ragdoll death. Download ... [Continue Reading]

Tomb Raider 2013 Crosses 8.5 Million Mark, Crystal Dynamics Releases Concept Art

Earlier this month, Crystal Dynamics reported that Tomb Raider 2013 has officially sold more than 8.5 million copies worldwide, thereby making it the best-selling title of the series. Although the company has yet to publish a breakdown of sales by platform, it’s safe to say that the game has ended up surpassing Square Enix’s initial sales target and revived interest in the series. To celebrate this major milestone, Crystal Dynamics ... [Continue Reading]

Lara Croft & the Temple of Osiris: First Impressions

Thanks to what I can only assume was a slight boo-boo on my local gamestore’s part, I received my copy of Lara Croft & the Temple of Osiris (Gold Edition) almost a week ahead of its official release date and ended up spending part of my weekend playing through the first few sections of the game in both single-player and 2-player co-op mode. Without spoiling too much, I thought I’d share my first impressions of the game with you ... [Continue Reading]

Square Enix Launches Lara Croft: Reflections

UPDATE: RenRen Games have announced that the game’s servers will be shut down in August 2014. Based on this, it now seems very unlikely that Lara Croft: Reflections will be released worldwide as previously planned.  When Square Enix trademarked the name Lara Croft: Reflections in March 2013, it sparked a flurry of speculation within the Tomb Raider fan community. Was it the name of the upcoming sequel to 2013’s reboot game? Could ... [Continue Reading]
